Upcoming Bosque Events

The Sierra Club’s Bosque Action Team invites you to three important events in support of a living Bosque.

Saturday, Sept. 29, 10 am – 2 pm
Build Your Refuge Day
@ Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge, 7851 2nd St SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105
Join the Sierra Club’s Bosque Action Team to help build the first trail in our City’s new Refuge. The Trail will provide access to the new Upland Playa which has just been developed on the east side of the refuge. We’ll start work at 10 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. You don’t need to work the whole time: we can also help by participating in “charrettes” or discussions on the design of the new Refuge Visitor Center as well as for signage and the entrance. There will be education programs for kids and adults and stories of the old Valley Gold property. Food trucks will be onsite. Please RSVP with Mark Rudd by text 505-270-5449 or by email.

Sunday, Sept. 30, 10 am – 4 pm
OFFCenter Folk Art Festival
@ Robinson Park, Central Ave. & 8th Street
This year OFFCenter’s Folk Art Festival’s theme is “Bosque Life” and the Sierra Club’s Bosque Action Team is a sponsor. The event includes a Giant Puppet Parade at noon, over 100 artist selling hand-made arts & crafts, live music, dance, magic and puppet play performance, FREE art-making activities for the whole family in the Giant Art Making Tent, and food and snacks from some of Albuquerque’s favorite food trucks. Please come by our Sierra Club and Bosque Action Team tables at the event and join us for the parade!
