The El Paso Sierra Club is invites the community to a Meet and Greet and the Premier El Paso showing of “Wild Ways” on Saturday morning, April 8, 2017 at Chamizal National Memorial Auditorium.

Meet other members of the El Paso Sierra Club and enjoy the El Paso Premier showing of Wild Ways.  The 60 minute film explores how newly established wildlife corridors offer hope to endangered species.  Before the film we will present an update on our efforts to protect wildlife corridors in Big Bend National Park and adjacent Mexico.  Refreshments: 10-10:30am.   Meeting starts in Auditorium at 10:30.   For more information call 915-217-4233.  Please RSVP by text or email to ricklobello@gmail.com or 915-217-4233

Women's March on Washington - Albuquerque

The Women’s March on Washington will be held on the National Mall the day after inauguration. There are 386 sister marches – all over the world. We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families – recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country. This is an INCLUSIVE march, and EVERYONE who supports the march’s goals are welcome to join this peaceful gathering!

Unfair Game

Unfair Game

You are invited to a Sierra Club-sponsored screening of “Unfair Game,” a film produced by Project Coyote that exposes the shameful practice of organized wildlife-killing contests.

In these competitions, contestants try to out-gun each other to win cash and prizes by amassing the most carnage. In New Mexico, these competitions occur almost every weekend during the winter months. Learn about the importance of “unprotected species” like coyotes in nature in a panel discussion afterward and how we can stop these disgusting killing sprees.

We’ve all heard what President-elect Trump has said he’ll do to our environment when he gets into office, and it’s frightening.

But we’re more concerned about what we are going to do. That’s you and me and other citizens who care about breathing clean air, drinking clean water and leaving a healthy, resilient state for our children. Working alongside our allies at Conservation Voters New Mexico, 350 New Mexico, New Mexico Interfaith Power and Light and Western Environmental Law Center, we’re hosting a workshop about the critical methane rules and what we can do next to keep them on the books.
