Los Talleres de Formación para la Acción es un evento que nace de la comunidad, organizado por voluntarios. Los talleres estan diseñados para construir y desarrollar la capacidad tanto de activistas experimentados como de activistas emergentes.  El evento iniciará con el registro y un almuerzo que puedes llevar contigo al primer taller con los presentadores.  Llevaremos a cabo varios talleres auspiciados por las organizaciones patrocinadoras y entrenadores individuales.  Cerraremos el evento con una fiesta, comida gratis y música.  ...

Over the next several weeks we’ll be providing a short one hour, lunchtime, telephone briefings on our priority legislation. Last night was pretty surreal. My wife, Linda, and I have been at Rosebud Camp, on Cannon Ball River just across from Oceti Sakowin camp. Maybe 3,000 folks at the three camps, growing a lot Saturday and Sunday with folks from all over US. Linda has been sorting clothes for three days, and I have been buying/bringing 2x4s and camp stove supplies (pavers, pipe, etc) on a trailer from Bismarck (2 tons/trip), taking the long way around since the military has ...

Nob Hill Holiday Stroll

Thursday, December 3rd, 6 pm

The nations of the world will meet in Paris to find common action on protecting our planet and its climate for future generations. Join us on at the Nob Hill Holiday Stroll. We’ll spread the message of climate hope, teaching our friends and neighbor about how we can give the gift of clean and renewable energy to our children and all future generations.

Where: Gather at Triangle Park at the corner of Monte Vista and Central.  We’ll stroll up Central to Carlisle and back carrying lanterns and singing Clean Climate Carols.

Rare photos and State Department documents to be revealed at Sierra Club presentation

The El Paso Sierra Club Group will sponsor a special presentation entitled “Rewriting the History of the Big Bend International Park Movement, 1933-1963” on Tuesday evening, 7:00pm on November 17 at the West Side Regional Command Center, 4801 Osborne Drive in El Paso.

Jason and Zachary Abrams, of Forgotten Frontiers.com will present a selection of previously unexamined material located in the National Archives that challenges the known history of the U.S.-Mexican International Park movement.  The presentation will also include the first-ever exhibition of rare photos, maps, telegrams, and key unknown documents from the files of the State Department and Department of the Interior.
