Flowers in the Artist’s Eye: Photographs by Sondra Diepen

Please join us this week for First Friday Art at the Sierra Club Albuquerque headquarters! Enjoy light refreshments, new friends, and the beautiful photography of Sondra Diepen.

When: 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6
Where: Sierra Club office, 2215 Lead Ave. SE, Albuquerque

Sondra Diepen grew up in a small town in northern California, next to the foothills where she rode her horse and explored hillsides, marshy places and shaded ravines where different wildflowers found their niche. After studying art at UC Davis, she moved to the Bay Area and on to the sun-drenched climate of New Mexico. In 2002 photography became her medium of choice, and flowers became her subject matter. She is drawn to the lush color and the intimacy of a blossom as it unfolded. This show is her way of sharing that beauty.
